ImageTrend Patient Registry Ready for NTDB 2020

LAKEVILLE, MINN. [December 12, 2019] - ImageTrend, Inc. announced the latest NTDB Data Dictionary is available in Patient Registry™ on January 1, 2020. The timeliness of this update ensures that hospitals are able to accurately and efficiently collect information on their 2020 patients immediately, while they simultaneously collect accurate information on their 2019 patients.

This update gives hospitals the ability to meet the updated TQIP (American College of Surgeons, National Trauma Data Set, Trauma Quality Improvement Program) requirements with the addition of the new Blood Products grid that has been added to the TQIP section. This addition will aid in the documentation of blood products administered to the patient, while giving the hospital flexibility to collect information on all blood product administration during the patient’s entire admission.

“ImageTrend is proud to work cooperatively with the American College of Surgeons and the NTDB staff to ensure Patient Registry meets and exceeds all of the NTDS data collection requirements,” commented Craig Rees, ImageTrend Patient Registry Product Manager. “Patient Registry’s use of a dynamic data collection form will automatically display the new fields for patients who arrive at the hospital on or after the first of the year.”

Additionally, the NTDB inclusion criteria for 2020 patients has been updated to automatically determine if a patient meets the 2019 or 2020 inclusion criteria. New data sections were also added for the 2020 NTDB Hospital Events.

NTDB participants can download the NTDS 2020 Data Dictionary at.https://www.facs.org/quality-programs/trauma/tqp/center-programs/ntdb/ntds/data-dictionary. A change log is available on the NTDB website as well that shows all of the changes that were included in the 2020 data dictionary.

ImageTrend supports the national data standard set forth by the American College of Surgeons and is committed to timely delivery of these definitions to its clients in the industry.
