Evaluation of trauma team activation criteria is critical to good patient care, but the methods that most programs are using are unsatisfying. In this session, we will discuss trauma triage, activation criteria, and how to justify team activation fees to an outside observer or government officials that may be looking to root out fraud and abuse.

About the Presenter Dr. David Morris, MD, FACS

Trauma Medical Director | Intermountain Healthcare Canyons and Desert Regions

Dr. Morris is a Trauma Surgeon from Salt Lake City, Utah. He graduated from The University of Utah with a BA in Chinese and attended the University of Utah Medical School. He completed residency in General Surgery at Mayo Clinic in Rochester, MN, followed by two years of fellowship training in Trauma, Surgical Critical Care, and Emergency General Surgery at the University of Pennsylvania in Philadelphia, PA. He joined the Level I Trauma Center at Intermountain Medical Center in Salt Lake City in 2016 and currently serves as the Trauma Medical Director for Intermountain Healthcare Canyons and Desert Regions.
